Forms & Surveys hosts a form at its own URL and gives it a QR code. People answer on their phone — no account, no app — and responses land in your dashboard.

The same builder makes a customer survey, an event registration, a training quiz or a timed exam. What changes is how you configure it, not which tool you use.

Build one

Step 1 — Create the form

Dashboard → Forms & Surveys → Forms → New form. Give it a title. You can start from a template if one matches what you're doing — it's a copy, so you can change anything afterwards.

Step 2 — Add your questions

Choose Add question and pick a type. Every question has a label, an optional help text, and a required toggle.

Keep the first version short. It's much easier to add a question after a few responses than to recover from a form nobody finished.

Step 3 — Preview it on a phone

Use Preview and open it on an actual phone, not just a narrow browser window. Long option lists and dense help text read very differently on a real device.

Step 4 — Share it

Every form gets:

  • A linkdrentio.com/f/<code>
  • A QR code — download it as PNG, SVG or PDF, or print it onto label sheets

The URL is a short, random code rather than your form's title. That's deliberate: titles would be guessable, would collide between customers, and would leak what the form is for before anyone opens it.

Sections

Longer forms can be split into sections. A section groups related questions and, if you turn on multi-page, becomes its own step with a progress bar.

There's also a scenario section — a block of text, an image or a table shown before the questions that follow it. It's what you use for reading comprehension, a case study, or "here are the terms, now answer these".

Settings worth knowing

  • Open and close dates — the form refuses submissions outside the window, with a clear message rather than a broken page.
  • Success message — what respondents see after submitting.
  • Theme and font — match your brand; on paid tiers you can remove Drentio branding.

Submit your own form once before sharing it, then delete the response. It's the fastest way to catch a required question you didn't mean to make required.
